The trips

Light tackle - trolling baits and live baiting on the Great Barrier Reef edge.
Extremely fast and fun when the bite is on!
Tackle: 10 to15kg light trolling outfits/rigged baits and lures/live baits.

Heavy tackle - trolling and live baiting with large baits and lures on the outside of the Great Barrier Reef. When you see a 10kg bait crushed and swallowed by a 1,000 pounder the sight will not be forgotten!
Tackle: 50lb to130lb.

Popper fishing & deepwater jigging:

Popper fishing - This involves casting surface lures and plugs at bait shoals on reef edges and shallow coral outcrops (bommies). It is one of the most visual and exiting forms of fishing there is.

Deepwater jigging - High speed spin gear is best suited to this style of fishing.
Big metal/feather or rubber jigs are dropped into bait shoals. Retrieved at speed; hang on when something hits!

Tackle - Light/medium spin gear braided line.

Boats - Gameboats from 32 ft up are used depending on requirements of the client/s.
